First bikie arrested after change of law

A HELLS ANGEL has become the first bikie to be arrested after legislation was passed to clamp down on outlaw gangs.

The club member was wearing full gang colours when police pulled him over about 4.30pm yesterday on Garden Street in Alexandria near the Australia Technology Park.

A witness who arrived at the scene soon afterwards said the police had forced the man off his bike and taken him into custody.

"There was a Hells Angel lying on the ground in full colours. He'd just been arrested," the witness said.

"He had a handgun pulled off him and I saw that they were clearing the chamber [of the pistol]. Then I heard him say, 'can you loosen the handcuffs?"'

Police confirmed the man had been questioned by members of Strike Force Raptor, a newly formed 75-strong police contingent created to target outlaw motorcycle gangs after a 29-year-old Hells Angels member, Anthony Zervas, was killed two weeks ago at Sydney Airport.

Shortly after the arrest, a police spokeswoman confirmed that search warrants had been obtained for properties in Surry Hills and Alexandria, which were tied to the detainee.

But she could not provide any details of the searches, such as whether the properties were owned by the outlaw gangs.

"Police still have to go through there pretty thoroughly, so it could take a while before they are able to take stock," the spokeswoman said.

About the same time as the arrest, police also pulled over and took into custody a man driving a black ute. The spokeswoman said it did not appear that he was linked to outlaw bikie gangs.

my understanding is that police had sufficient powers in the past to pull over an outlaw on suspision ...... they have now just got more pollitacal will behind them ... perhaps if they had been doing their job properly in the past the wouldnt be that much hysteria now .  so i am not sure why we should be caught up in the hysteria of the moment .. i say lets see how it plays out ....  scuse the typo's , yet to have my caffeine   

I'm with you FLSTC, if the coppers had been doing their job properly before, maybe things wouldn't have got this bad. A crime is a crime no matter who commits the offence....

They're using the excuse "Hells Angel" bikie to arrest the bloke, but I think they're really arresting them all for being a DISGRACE to being a HARLY OWNER....

The boys have sorted it in house, and not hurt any outsiders. Give them some credit, a few bystanders saw somethings shocking, pigs arse. What they saw can be seen on any TV channel at night with some bullshit show.

 

Tackle the real criminals, the psycos that hurt women and children and those that can;t defend themselves.

 

OK what I mean is that, being a "Bikie" and owning a Harley...you'd think it would be in good shape...but have you seen some of the shit box condition some of the Harleys are in...and belonging to "Clubbies". Don't get me wrong some are well looked after some, however should be on Vespas... and don't kid me that they are "Rat Rod choppers" either!!!!

I am a bikie....the point I was trying to get across, is that some "Bikies" only ride Harley's because it makes them think they're COOL...and don't look after them. And as for my girlfriend, yep some bikie took her, but that's OK, she was an ONION anyways...eveytime you saw her she'd make ya cry...kind of like your Mrs.

regardless skidz evreyone is skittish because the law will be practised on all who ride harleys,the law attacks all our rights of freedom to associate even if ur not a clubby you will sooner or later will expeirence the presence of the new gestapo .so have a look at some earlier threads to get the drift ,

I have already experienced the GESTAPO. I have 1 x 08 Nightrod, 1 x Softail, 2 x custom choppers and 2 Jap bikes. The worst encounter I had was last week. I was dressed in shorts, tshirt an sneakers on the Jap Bike Yam R1 and 3 female cops wanted to know if I was part of a gang (they ref to Notorious) because I had fancy clothes on. What wankers. So I get hassled on everything, but the choppers, they stop me, but only to look thank god for that. But even the nightrod pisses them off.

well mate the new powers they got means they gonna get worse ,as theve lost the fight against major crims ,drugs,etc all of sudden they got sittin ducks to bring back their public image of being protectors of the masses,
