I thought the idea of getting them their own bike was so you can't hear them.

The cheapest form of on bike communications are hand signals

fangi , got the blueant system.  all up pretty damn good .  use it with handbrake on the longer/overnight rides.  if you wear an open face helmet , no windshield and loud pipes dont even bother getting it.  you can always turn volume down , or off quite easily if missus gives you the shits.  lasts for around 4-5 hours + depending before recharge.... so if you are doing 400 ks or so in a day it wont give you a worry in the world.  well worth the investment IMHO if you are set to do some long trips . not cheap though.

I've got the blueant if its windy at higher speeds not great , nice day there real good sometimes i get a crackle and the missis does'nt i've put it down to the helmets , she wears a nolan with a visor , on the longer trips with her i wear a THH with a visor its definetly the helmit because when i'm on my bike with the windscreen i get a shit load off buffeting if i put her helmet on the buffeting is not has bad.

All in all , there prety good , but too be honest i'm known to turn mine off, and pretend the batteries flat anyway, cos she just won't shut the fack up. I think they would be pretty useless if you just have an open face.

I had a VOX system (standard) on my Ultra with Mrs Chips on the back. I used to just turn the fugging thing off to stop that strange noise that developed on my bike.....

I have the Blue ant interphone system and have been told the scalar system is much better.

The blueant disconnects from the Missus when she gets more than a kilometer behind and it doesn't reconnect aparently the scalar system will still reconnect and battery life lasts a hell of a lot longer.

I have open face and I am fucked if I can understand her at anythin over 60 k's so the blueant system is little better than useless in my books.

    Get the scalar.

or get Autocom and 2 way system.

I have the Nolan N-Com fitted to my open face with visor Nolan helmet, I have only used it for the bluetooth to the phone and music on the ipod, from all reports me doing 100 on the phone the other end thinks I'm sitting at home on the couch, so its pretty good. Its also expensive, they have another module for bike to bike com.

AUTOCOM system tested to a very hi speed on a ducati and no worries hearing music phone and missus :(

the auto com is good because you can have pillion rider rider rider also extra socket for sidecar and phone music and cb .... i got a icom hand held cost me 500 but it is a top of the range ......

problem if ya dont know someone has rung and you and ya missus are making silly noises (ie sheep noises ... dont fucking ask) ppl tend to tell you funny stories on ya return from ya holiday

I Have a scala unit and it is great. Does really well to cut out the wind noise and the sound quality and connection distance is much better then the blueant. I got mine from www.lbhretail.com.au - they did me a good deal on two so may be worth looking into.

    Hope this helps

    Cheers

I got the scala Q2 .... works shit hot, no wind noise and crystal clear sound (full face helmets), does voice dial and answer on my nokia phones, has fm radio and can plug the mp3 into it, mp3 or radio will keep playing until someone starts yappin and will cut back in when ya get her to shut up again (good twist on the throttle seems to work), was pretty easy to fit as well.

    hello
I have experience of blueant and scala Q2. me and my friend both were interested in buying bike-bike communication devices. I went for scala, while my friend for blueant.

And I am happy with my decision, because the voice quality of interphone f4 at high speed sucks. the quality of their conversation above 60 km is not good. and when he went to return the product, blueant were a nightmare to deal with. I would not recommend it to any one.

    you are right austin

I am facing the same problem. I usually enjoy riding above 80km/hr. But everytime, above 65-70, my F4 starts making annoying noises, so it becomes impossible for me to enjoy music or stay connected with my  riders. Its just a useless device for me.

my friend had bought the original blue ant about an year ago, wasn t impressed by the quality, lot of pain pairing them for bike to bike and one stop working after 2 weeks....he is a big hater of blueant.
