    Howdy all,

Finally got some parts from the States and due to time constraints would like to have them fitted by  bike mechanic.
Would anyone be able to recommend a decent workshop in Melbourne to have some parts fitted. I want mechanic to look after my bike as he would after his own.

Is Peter Stevens workshop (city and dandenong) any good?

    Cheers

    Vlad

Hi Wozza, Thanks for the recommendation.
I am about to fit 14" apes together with braided brake, clutch, throttle/idle lines. While the job doesn't look overly complicated, it requires removal of the exhaust, clutch cover, tank and numerous other parts. With a limited number of tools that I have and no bike lift I suspect that the job might prove little difficult to handle.
Hence the search for the "right workshop".

I'll give Johnny Ireland a call tomorrow to get things sorted. My main concern is that whoever works on my bike takes care and doesn't rush things. I hate to get "free" scratches, etc.

    Cheers

mate you would be ok to do this job

    no bike lift needed

take ur time and ull be fine

circlip plyers is probly the only item ud need to buy to do clutch cable ,

rest are basic, and DONT try tighten that new clutch cable up to much , a twig over will be enough ,with the O ring fitted, somtimes u need to use ur old one if u bought a cheaper cable,  or ull snap the sucker

If your looking for a great mechanic in the Dandenong area , you can't beat Rick of Ricks Bikes , Cannons Creek just out side Cranbourne 5338 7707. Only works on HD's  Sevicing and Customising He is fantasic , knows his stuff and very fair in his what he charges. The first time I had my bike serviced by him the price was about half of the last workshop that I uset to use, I canr't praise him enough..
