Gum Boots....they will keeep you dry when riding in the rain. Also when you are running through paddocks...Don't now what this means but I am over 40, so its not my fault.

Here to help in any way possible.

Love your posts...they are thought provoking

I mostly ride with Doc Marten laceup boots. They are very comfortable and long wearing. The sole has a pretty good tread, no slippies when standing still. The best thing about them is they are real leather and your feet don't stink. I can wear the same socks for a couple of days away riding, no problem. Cost approx $250.

Also I inherited some lace up construction/wharfie type boots, and they are probably better all round but not as dressy. Light fawn and green in colour, you have probably seen them on work sites. Cost nil, that was a bonus. They are light and comfortable, have a steel cap toe, the tounge is part of the boot, better in the wet, and they have a great tread.

I also have a pair of high Johnnie Rebs, you are right you feel like a bloody cowboy, and the sole is leather, slippery as shit when trying the manuervre the bike. Useless, really.

I have a set of H-D boots similar to Hoodamans boots, only mine go a couple of inch's higher up the leg, I was surprised how comfortable they are to wear all day, I had a walk about for a couple of hours last service around Pt Lincoln, I got a discount but still paid $275, they show no sign of wear and support my ankles as I stick my legs over the pegs out on the road

Hate to say this but I got to agree with the Gnome Dazza, Rossi boots are the ones to have. I got 2 pair, 1 short for around town on short trips and a long water proof pair for all other riding and comfortable as well.

I wear whats called a "Heeler" boot from Steel Blue Australia, they are the most comfortable pair of boots that I have ever owned. Warm, waterproof and can spend all day in them.
Have a feeling that a forum members is one of the owners of this company, maybe wrong. Had a pair of Rebs and they were the worse pair of boots ever.

Rossi for me. Calf length, waterproof, breath, Australian and comfortable. Only problem is the don't come in half sizes for wide feet.

Thinking of a pair of Rossi Caterpillar ripple sole DB's for general riding around town. Use to love 'em when I was growing up
