would save a lot of drama's if he just went and got his license especially if he has his learners already, as per previous posts it would be life changing if he has a prang and hurts someone

Depends where he works. Some sites have a rule, no car license, no driving any machine, regardless of ticket.

    RT's point +1

In the west you will probably get $100 driving out class fine plus court cost, depends on the magistrate on the day as to wether or not you lose your licence.

(depends on the mood he is in)

sex the night before, no loss of licence

hang over in the morning, 3 months garanteed loss

I think what a lot of these posts are leading to is that even if you pay for your insurance, no license no insurance. God help him if he runs into a Rolls Royce or a Ferrari or worse hurts someone. They will take most of every cent he makes for the rest of his life! They even take it out of your centre link payments!

Not worth the risk, if he hits someone, or if someone is in the wrong and they hit him, he is still classified as the person in the wrong because he doesn't have a licence. He will loose everything, including the bike, and will get sued......it's a bit like a bad divorce.

You go straight to your black's if you pass the p's test if over 30, my mate went from a car license to full car & bike license in 3 weeks, mostly depends if you can get a spot in the classes.

Correct, its the risk/insurance aspect you gotta' think about.

Hence why I'm trying to buy a road registerd dirt bike now as sick of getting fined in the state forest and sick of the uneasy feeling knowing that if i hit something or someone i am str8 to court for the bill as not registered/insurable.

Tough one, a very big bet on yourself to go without.

Why don't you help a brother out, seaeagle - maybe let him copy or doctor up a full licence based on yours? Only need it for a short while...

Then he can go on riding, without gettin caught by the jacks
Just some words of wisdom from an old weasel

If you have full car licence you dont have p plates on a bike, your just on power restrictions for 12 months and not allowed to take pillions.
Good thing is you dont have to display P's and its only a small fine then.. But getting caught on Learners would be a different story. Its a permit to learn how to ride not a licence.

One of those things, Run the Gauntlett but be prepared for the consequences if caught.
