Just moved from the rain capital, Cairns, and the best thing is not to ride in it if you can help it...but if you do, just get clear safety glasses and wear them. I still wear an open face with a face mask and i have made it home. You get used to the big rain drops that fell like needles. You can see the cage drivers looking at you and laughing at you, but WTF at least i am riding a Harley and they are not, stick you head up and ride on, and enjoy....just try not to think about all that chrome you just spent cleaning for the last 3 hours.
Thats the fuked thing, cleaning. I'm heading to Canberra on Friday with a few mates, rain hail or shine Watching the weather daily.
Did 1000km trip from Gosford to the Sunshine Coast in April 2003 and it was pissin down when we left, stopped raining near Tamworth for about 80 k's and then pissed down all the way to the Sunshine Coast. I don't mind riding in the rain, just gotta relax and get on with it. Riding in the rain is still way better then going to work.....
And another thing.........
You can buy a product called RainX which is a product you put on car windscreens and the aircraft industy uses.
It is wiped onto the glass and when rain hits it the rain beads and rolls off.
Word of warning.... don't know how it goes on plastic lenses but it's OK on glass as long as it does not have a anti fog coating
