Well decided that , my street bob is a  prick off a tourer , use my Vulcan for two up touring  but its going , decided too change it  can't make  up my mind on the road king , electra glide standard . Whats your opinions  This bike is not going to be used for anything except overnighters and  2 up , is the difference in price worth it  and also am i going too have too change the shockers like i did on the street bob, I considered them rear shocks to be out and out dangerous .

Must admit though at the risk off being kicked off the site ha ha  , the Triumph rocket is looking real good 4 grand cheaper than the electra glide.. Dealer does'nt have any that i can test ride for more than a couple off trips round the block though so feed back would be appreciated .  style off riding i'm not a racer don't scrape the pegs  on my dyna never mind a bigger heavier bike and like i say will only be for two up weekends away

mate dunno how you feel listening to a few tunes while your riding but i went to an eg standard with the h/d stereo fitted, for two up trips and solo ones, from a vulcan

      best move i ever made

have done a lot of long rides on mine luggage capacity is great and  a comfy seat  for both rider and passenger

and just love the music machine on trips

be aware that the batwing really protects  ya from bugs etc  can get a bit warm in 40 deg heat with not as much wind hitten ya

am just about to pick up a new 09 eg standard so i hope the seat is just as good on the new one

                                  my 2 cents worth

Correct there , I always had ninja bikes , changed to cruisers with a small Honda Ace , too gutless so bought the Vulcan for the power , Bought the dyna April 08 and thought what a facking waste the last 10 years has been , I'll never part with it it really stood out why Harleys were so popular , put the sert on it and the pipes , once i changed the shockers to progresive 412 could'nt believe just how easy it was to throw around . next change i think are drag bars and then i might even give the forwrd controls a go at the moment mid mounts with highway pegs .

But for now the discision has to be which bagger , got a couple mates who have the rocket tourers and they love em , suppose i'll have to go in tomorow and let the actual dollars decide , be willing to pay more for the Harley but theres a limit . Actual fact only getting another one so i can keep the handbag off the back off the bob , getting to the stage i'm sneaking it down the street before i start it , and she's chasing me with her helmit in her hand ,ha ha

I have a streetbob too and have test ridden both the new Roadking and EG std I felt most comfortable on the EG std but the Road king would be second choice, that Batwing makes a hell of a difference.
Its a choice I will be making at some stage in the future but having too much fun on the Bob at the moment.
    Good luck with ya choice.

Boxa, I ride the 08 Road King Classic and most of my riding is 2 up, and I love it. So does the passenger. I bought a backrest and rear carrier, and have a removable Harley bag for the back. That as well as the 2 panniers, gives you heaps of room for the long weekend trips. Planning on an interstate run next March, which just means a couple extra pairs of jocks etc, and visit the laundromats on the way. I find the standard shocks are fine and I run 24psi in them and 40psi in the rear tyre. Best thing about the bike is the 6 speed box and cruise control, it loves ambling along at 120kph. Any faster and you are flirting with the law.
I also test rode the Rocket 3 before I bought the RKC, but stuck with the more expensive option. I just wanted to stick with HD as it's tried and tested.

Well made the discision and bought the rocket, the only thing that swayed me was price and price alone  Could'nt believe how nimble it was for such a big bike, price was 2008, model 25 grand on road wiyh a back rest and luggage rack .

Did'nt want the 2008 harley only would off settled for the 2009   EG  was going to be about 3500 grand difference plus any thinhg i would want to do to it , In the end could'nt justify the extra money for what is really only going to be used for touring , Missis being a pom was another reason , I generally always get my own way but this time she carried on  you have a Harley i want a triumph.

Thought serious about trading her in for being so mouthy   But in the end thought fack it I don't mind triumphs  its a real user freindly bike for the size  any way  its not like i hav'nt still got the bob , and that thing will go to the grave with me..

Fack me though , i created a monster when i strarted taking her out on the bike , only had the  triumph  a few hours she's on about custom paint jobs for the bikes, suppose she better get a job , i don't know if i'm lucky having a missis that don't mind spending on bikes  or i should just trade her in and save shitloads

Thanks for all your imput by the way

If you feel like paying her back boxa, ask her why they make Triumphs in Thailand and watch her squirm.

Fack ...never mind her you just got me squirming in my seat, I can't tell her , she'll just say it was my fault and i knew all the time.

Been out today though  put 400 klm on it  obviously can't give it shit yet but been all through the adelaide hills on the twisties , in the city , over victor to delamere on the sweepers on the freeway , got too be honest seems like a real good machine . except  when your going below 5 klm and parking that sort of thing then you relize its a big mother facker but once going  not bad. Hopefully i'l get used to  the slow manouvers

Got too say though its only  a bike for the two up trips away , any other riding and fackit you can;t beat the streetbob thats just PLAIN GOOD FUN

If you need some hot up tips, let me know. I have built up two Rocket 111's since there release, 1 x NOS powered, and 1 x Neville Lush Racing equiped beast. If you want to save a fortune on rear tyres, then go darkside (car tyre) on the rear. Good luck with it, they are addictive
