Quick question. Does anybody here know if a 2008 model fatties 200 rear etc swingarm and so forth would bolt onto an 05 fattie. Some I speak to say yes some say probably not.

Reason is a mate of mine is going to a 300 rear on his fattie doing some custom work, I was looking into his old stuff. From a glance it all pretty much looks the same on the frame side of things despite the 96/88 cube diff. Any knowledge or wisdom appreciated.

if youre using all the parts from the 08, ie. pulley and belt it should all fit. There would only be a few slight mods to the swingarm as dazz suggested. Cant see it being too difficult. Just give it a go.

Yeh would be all the parts from the 08, cos he is buying a fat rear kit where he gets all he needs also. So anything he pulled off to get the new one on I would get the older stuff. Pretty sure with the kit he gets the swingarm, needs to buy rear wheel, some offset thingy for primary, struts & guard for memory. I just didnt wanna buy all his original stuff to make mine a 200 rear if it wasnt gonna fit. Just curious the 200 rear swingarm i get off him would need machining ? is that to fit in the 05 frame or ? and techinally i shouldnt need an engineers certificate for that should I ? as it come out standard on the 08.
