Thanks Wozza, not sure what the problem is really. However I can do with out the problems when I go for a ride. Having said that surley there are more HOG riders than any other biker gang.

Yes I’m new to the world of Harley’s, perhaps even “green” as you put it Bacamick. However, I thought I was doing just as you suggested, using the internet and the HD forum to find out as much information as I can. Looking back I agree that that using the word “gang” was a poor choice.

Fortunately for me, I have meet over 40 riders in last 6 months and all of whom have been really friendly and helpful. You two are the only Neanderthals I have come across. Pretty god ratio I suppose.

I’m not sure if you were cooking bacon Bacamick when you posted your comments, but I can assure you that I’m no pig. Kind of thinking an educated man like you (NOT) has had plenty of experience with the cops. Wonder why with an attitude like that.

It’s kind of pity really Bacamick, you seem very passionate about BACA (that’s an acronym for you two) why you can’t be nice to Harley owners in their incipient stage (look it up if you don’t know what it means). Keep up the good work with BACA at least the world can see some good in you.

Bacamick and Pizzlin if you have nothing of value to say keep it to yourselves. If I do happen to make another post treat it as a rhetorical question (may as well look that one up too).

It's fine to have a disagreement but keep it clean, argue all you like about what you like but lets try to avoid the name calling, that's how things escalate.

Doesn't matter who they are.If you get a group of people together,there will always be some that you won't get along with,it is all about our perceptions and what we want or expect from others.That is how we form friendships.It is no different in HOG clubs,I know people in HOG that are some of the nicest people you would want to meet,and know a few you would want to watch your back if needed,I also know a few clubbies thet are exactly the same.On the other hand,I know a lot in both sides that I wouldn't p*#s on if they were on fire,and a lot I wouldn't want to watch my back.A patch isn't that hard to earn,it used to be hard to keep.Nowdays they just give em out like candy,you only have to be in the click.

Can anyone tell us who is organising the National Rally at Lennox Head and how we can register?

Well that was quite an ordeal reading through the 3 pages of woopdedoos. I remember they had a HOG rally in my home town a couple of years before I got my first Harley. I was overwhelmed with the whole mass of bikes. I had the camera snapping all day at the bike show. It's pretty well much the only place you can ride your bike with the "loud pipes' and get away with it. The riders love the sound, and the general public are there to hear it as well. It's only the odd officer that can't stand anyone having fun.

Buying my first Harley in 2003, I got the package from HOG International with the badges and patches etc. I have kept the payments up just to get that little package each year and for the discount credit card. (which I have used a few times) Another good thing is the Road Map booklet, which is pretty handy for an interstate trip, car or bike. So this year with the new Roady I get another free year of badges and patches, but I still haven't decided to decorate a vest or jacket. Don't think it really suits my style to be decked out like that. But I like the memoribilia that I can leave to the kids.

I also haven't joined a local HOG chapter as they are too far away to be practical. I will continue to be a shift work rider, mostly on my lonesome and during the week when normal people are working.

Oh yeah, one other comment, I think we all should encourage new Harley riders into this forum regardless of their Harley expiences, we were all new to the lifestyle ourselves at some stage.
I joined another bike forum last year and because it was probably sport bike orientated I got sick of the jibes about Harley riders so I have given that one a miss now. Pity really because I have respect for all forms of motorcycle riders, scooters, and all brands of bikes.

I find this forum more relaxing, and that's how it should be in my opinion.......TC

Just reading in HD Magazine last night, the South Australian HOG Rally is on the long weekend in October (31st)

Spoke to the passenger about it this morning and we are going to go. We are not really into all the bling patch stuff, but I thought it was about time I went along for a looksee. They had a rally up here about 10 years ago, and I was just an observer then.

Been meaning to have a burble down Victor Harbour way, so I can kill 2 birds with one stone.

Sounds like there may be an Ulysses event the same weekend, after talking to the Caravan Park man.

Anyone else going ?????
