I bought a second hand 2008 XL1200C about a month ago... after 17 years without a bike. It's my first Harley & hoping it won't be my last. I love it.

Quick iPhone pic in the driveway...

Not sure I really like the V&H side shots currently fitted to the bike; I don't really like the look of them in black & they are quite a harsh sounding pipe that is likely to attract attention I don't really want. The original headers with SE mufflers also came with the bike, thinking they might go back on soon. I've added the detachable sissy bar in the past week to encourage my wife to come pillion with me again. There are a couple of other things that I'm considering with the bike at the moment & will be posting up a thread soon to seek input from all you good folk

Congrats that looks great! I like the pipes, the quiet baffles you can get for them bring the volume down a little, but take quite a lot of the harsh sound out of them. I preferred my straight shots with the quiet baffles on mine.

Mainly joined as Im looking into supercharger/turbocharger kits, but thought I'd say gday here first.

Nice ride , those cycle shack pipes are loud, I put cycle shack baffles into my screaming eagle cause they were on the quiet side , they are pretty loud but similar to the Vance And Hindes my mates got on his fatboy

Very loud lol, they came with baffles installed, are there quieter ones?

Also the titanium tape is better heat wise than the shields, but the mufflers run a lot hotter than stock. Has so much more balls now, and revs smoother. Thank god those bloody cat mufflers are off.

Found another photo of my Sportster... I think it's the best one I have. Can't believe 'Bogie' (its name) is 15 years old this year... still looks like it just rolled out of the showroom. It has so much pickup grunt, even more than my sports bike that has double the hp. Many say they are just bar hoppers... mine purrs away down the freeway at 110 kms with heaps of power to safely overtake if needed on country roads... it runs like a dream.

It's amazing how a Sportster can look so different yet still be the same. 5 different bikes 5 different styles. Got2luvem.

Looks great with white wall tyres too...

It's amazing how drag bars can change the look too... when you get as old as I am sometimes you just want to put on some higher bars... but eveytime I look at the bike I can't do it...
