Have added new grips and pegs since this photo. The fun bits are the ones you can't see though

    Hey cuey,

What's the bike like to ride now after the hammer upgrades? Felt the need to do any suspension or brake upgrades since doing up the motor?

Boggsy it is a blast to ride.... HEAPS of fun and money well spent!

The brakes and suspension handle things just fine..... Having said that, the bike has only done 3600 kms so every thing is relatively new still.

Good to hear Cuey, I have a hammer 1250 kit ready to go myself, just got to get a bike stand and service manual before I install it. I only got the narrow band O2 sensors for the powervision though, so hopefully it all goes alright.

Wasn't sure what the brakes and that would be like with the extra power, was also thinking of upgrading them before I install the kit, but might not worry now.

Boggsy it is an easy DIY job and the narrow band O2 sensors will be fine. Run the auto tune on your 1250 map and make sure you get it on the dyno after the break in period.

Did you get any head work or just the 1250 kit?

I had the smash work done to a set of second hand 883 heads that they had, and the 560 cams to go with the 1250 jugs.

So you just loaded up the 1250 map and ran the auto tune during the break in period, then after that you took it to a proper tuner to get put on the dyno and properly tuned?

Hopefully in a couple of weeks on my next lot of days off I while start the rebuild.

    Hey stef

Yeah its a XL1200CB with a few mods. I think the B just stands for Black.

All I want is a nice diamond stitched seat and maybe better suspension....this stock brawler seat is only good for around 2-3 hours(if that). The stock badlander was better.

Nice neat ride there too Jinda

    Hey Lucifer

ive been down that road a coulple times now Broken hill- wilcannia-whitecliffs but only in a car (for work). Every time i drive there i wish i had my bike.

    Two questions

Did you need travel with a fuel bottle given the tank capacity?

How was your seat over that distance?
