    They are alpine joey..

There are a few different color/design combos that you can get.
They don't have the protection that a proper riding boot can give.
But with better ankle support and protection then a sneaker or casual shoe
It was kind of an easy decision

Cut my rear guard down some more and side mounted the plate off the LHS shock bolt.. This was the last pic before the transformation! 21" chrome laced front has arrived, rear 17x4.5 Deuce wheel has been centre bored and now at Nunawading Electroplating for Chrome.. 180 rear tyre sitting in the garage ready to go. Sanded down and polished up the forks and rotors, should be a nice 'shiny' change...

what do you think of the licks 10 inch shocks mate?

I am hating mine, I'm certain they don't move at all haha.

Even with the preload on the softest setting it's like a hardtail.

Going to go airbags I think.

    Thanks Rik,

Not as fancy as some on here but gets the job done. Here's another pic of the forks and rotors if anyone wanted another view, I would recommend this method to anyone looking for a bit of shine without paying the big $ for the chrome parts, and the best bit is it will never flake or chip like I have seen chrome do.. If it dulls a little, a quick polish brings it back up.

    Gday Brash,

Mate I can certainly agree that they are like struts, haha! They certainly feel that way anyway doing 120kmh over bumps.. Not much movement there, I was happy to put up with it for the look... but Airbags would be a huge improvement. My bike came stock with 11" HD shocks (XL883L) and the difference is amazing, on long rides I throw the 11's back on.

    Cheers, Mitch

Nice Bike mate, just out of interest what bars you got on there as I'm looking to upgrade from the standard bars.

Hi Iron, mate these bars are actually an HD part, PN #55800035, I think theyre perfect and around the same price as aftermarket, so I took the genuine part.

Have done a few more things, been making brackets and did a tank lift, ignition and coil relocation, and speedo relocation, gutted the headlight and flipped internals so I can run it down on the bottom clamp and made a mounting block, coming together now, can't wait to get on the road! Looking shiny

Thanks Rik, well the wheel is actually an Ultima compelte wheel that I bought in the USA and had mailed down here, I bought it on an online chopper parts store, just found via google search ( cant think of the name right now, sorry mate! ). I thought it would save some hassle as it comes fully laced, bearings installed, etc etc.

I just thought I'd show you guys and give some applause to one of my best mate Marty's bike that he has finished. This was a dead stock iron 883 and after his mods its one of the coolest looking sporties around (it was finished this afternoon!).

If anyone here is looking for next level paint work, high quality, and some of the best in Australia, get in touch with him at AA Panelcraft in Southern Highlands, NSW. Marty and his father Andrew run/own the business and Andrew was awarded Master Craftsman at Summernats last year, he literally is one of, if not the best body worker/painter and hot rod builder in the country at the moment.. and this is evident in the quality of Marty's airbrush and paint skills. He will be painting my bike once the wheels are completed and its rolling around again, with a cream flame over candy red scheme. If anyone is interested, find them at aapanelcraft.com or on instagram: www.instagram.com/aa_panelcraft
