Yes you do need to have the Bike richen up. It's Poping because it is running Lean. Also check that they are sealing that the Head

You can check out morepowerracing in the states as well. They have some good deals on Power Commanders at the moment. Think they are about $260.00 us plus freight. You will get good and bad reviews about them but I have one on my 06 Softail with heavy breather, big radius pipes and se 211 cams and have had no problems.

Exhaust eliminators will not help gettin rid of your decel pop. If the dealer fitted those pipes they shouldve diabled the active exhaust flap. The reason you get decel popping is from an overly lean mixture and / or improperly sealing exhaust flange gaskets. Taking into account that the efi hasnt been upgraded or (tuned) i would more than likely point the problem at this due to the fact that they run too lean in stock form as it is. There are many forms of efi enhancement you can use and it all depends on who you are talking to , how much you wanna spend and how much you want to play with the efi system yourself. Read up about The FUELSHOT, TTS, SERT, THUNDERMAX, POWER COMMANDER in the EFI section. Theres enough info there to help you make an informed decision. If not mate just give me a call.

As far as the dealer saying you have get this and that ,, save your money until you speak to Scott at least. And the guys on this forum will guide you down the right track. Some of the stuff they know is mind blowing and a little bit hard to get to grips with. But they are not out to rip you off... That is the best part about this site.

My 2 cents worth.

The TTS seems to be the most versatile and best bang for buck and it works. If you know any thing about computers you can do it yourself. The TTS will also follow you on your journey for future modifications, Cams, Pistons and barrels down the track.

 

Match up the mods and tune, and all is worth it. I pulled the packet out from under my seat and put some more padding in there and that made huge difference. The pillion seat got pumped up a few inches, much better.

Hafta agree with you MJ. Maybe not "rubbish" but certainly overpriced.

I read on the net "somewhere" that V&H didn't even rate in the top 15 performance pipes in the US. I was researching while looking for pipes. Bought Hookers myself. .

In the top 5 were BUB, D&D and supertrapp amongst others. Hooker were in the top 10.

V&H do look good though.
