So its probably not a good idea to be dropping the clutch then, I dont want to be holding a harley up in the air and dont want to be pushing it home either.....

release clutch gently building revs .......

then once smoke plumes from under rear gaurd start to do the donut shuffle once faceing a good direction seat arse hold tight release brake and be ready for power slide ..

relax right hand pull clutch and grab another gear and punch it again :D .........

if you get it all right it will look great ya mates will back slap ya saying how impressive you are ...... might even buy ya a beer or two......

get it wrong make sure ya insurence premium is up to date

I've found it helps if you load up the front with a bit of gear and then hunker down the front break - so your front suspension is compressed a bit know wot i mean?

Then you have to get you weight off the seat and commit with the revs/clutch.

HD's have heaps of torque so I find you don't need to flatten it, let the clucth out nice and snappy at around mid-high revs.
Be prepared to grab clutch in again if she starts careening off down the street.

On that note, for fucks sake make sure there is lot's of space around,
i did my first burnout in front of a pub in the city on a busy night and I did'nt have alot of escape routes.

I've pulled 3 good mono's on my Dyna and they said it can't be done,
so start with some smoke and then see if you can lift 270kgs in the air as your 2nd challenge.

Failing all of the above, practice on a dirt/clay road, I still find that more fun and you can pull some wild 2nd gear power slides, just get very used to the weight before you start hurling your leg out thinking your on a dirt bike.
