I'm split on this one...I think 2 years is very harsh on the other hand he lied and tried to play the system. I'm not saying that he should have gotten off but 6 months seems more like it. As someone else mentioned, people have killed and got less...WTF. I'm sure he will be paroled after a year anyway for good behavior.

I bet he is not in a normal room, and doesn't have to eat prison grub. His 200k pension will see to that. I wonder if he will help fight these laws in SA, seeing as how he has spare time on his hand.

Well guy's here's my two bob's worth......If it wasn.t for that blonde bitch reporter sniffing up everyones arse to sell papers,,,,no one would be the wiser...I for one am appauled that such a trivial matter be dealt with so harshly...sure the guy lied...who the bloody hell doesn't when it comes to these blood sucking cameras.....this is a man a father like yours or mine with a family and will hugely suffer the indignity of being caught ...but to be sent to jail for two years is total bullshit...total,,,,, when they let rapist and pedophiles, targeting YOUR children,, go with perhaps a fine or a bond......lets get real here,,this IS Austraila....ISN'T IT???????????

perhaps people in positions of authority SHOULD be dealt with more harshly............if someone assaulted a fuzz they are given a harsher sentence for it than if they assaulted Mr Joe Public then why shouldnt it go both ways??? This sort of corruption at the top must be feel the full extent of the law if only to disencourage the same behaviour by others in power.........This IS justice so enjoy it while ya can cause it doesnt happen very often.....

yeah Noit you are right, I'm about to give my brief up for 3 mths because my last one which put me over the top, I rode at 64KPH in a 60 zone (big bad biker...wow)
and Hooda, you are correct too as no one is above the law,,,,but when laws are so blatantly enacted to tax the population OVER and above a fair standard,,,,it's time to astart yelling at the barstards........

The comments so far seem to talk about how harsh it is ... and yes given the speeding fine and cost, $77, it is harsh

BUT..the key critical thing here is that this was a Judge .. a person who is supposed to know the law backwards and he tried to work the system .... he lied in court

if our judges believe it is ok to lie in court, what hope have the rest of us got ....

we would all stand up and scream if the big blue gang lied to get their way ...

the speed cameras are a revenue raiser ..but this was all about a judge lying, knowingly lying to get away with something ... and he didnt just do it once, he kept lying hoping to get away with it

    so where does it stop
