Hi fellas any suggestions about to purchase my first harley 08 model cant make my mind up between fatboy or the softail custom anyone ridden both bikes before and can give a bit of advice.

i do though like the king queen seat on the custom seems more comfortable  took the custom for a nice ride but still not quite sure which one

Welcome oggie, you are asking the wrong crowd - most are like me that took a while to decide which model to buy and then change the seat (among other things) anyway.

Best thing to do is test ride and then test ride some more.

I own a 07 FXSTC but personally hate the standard seat. Have a retro one on now.

Have also owned a 2000 Heritage Classic which is like Fatboy but has bags & Backrest etc standard.

Liked both bikes but prefer forward controls to floor boards. The boards seem to scrap 2 easily for me but if you are 2 up a lot the bike is good.

I have 3" ext on my forward controls where the standard floor board position was quite comfortable.

Remember Test ride as much as possible and try riding both at the same time so U can get the best possible comparision.
