    Gday all,

Good to see a local site and hope it builds some momentum.

I am on my second HD now after many years on GSX and GSXR Suzukis. First was an 06 Street Bob which I stupidly traded on a Ducati Monster. Six months later that got traded on an 07 Softail Standard.

Now i just need to finish making it mine and try to free up a few of those hobbled ponies.

Hope to chat with you all more over time.

    cheers

    Surly

NoR here and yes there are a surprising number of sandgropers here.

Yes I did post on both decisions on the US HD site. It was a Ducati S4RS Monster and it was bloody awesome out on the open road at high speed however they have a ridiculously small tank and short range. It was a pig at legal speeds and would stutter and surge annoyingly trying to ride in a legalish manner. It turned beautifully and had the best brakes of any bike I have ever ridden.

As a long time sport bike rider I was surprised how much I missed just putting along at the limit letting the world go by. The chrome headlight on the Softail reflects the blue sky and clouds above and reminds me that life can be enjoyed at a much more leisurely pace...which still won't stop a 103 kit n cams going in somewhere along the way

I am surprised that the Softail has more cornering clearance than my Street Bob had even if it doesnt turn or handle quite as nicely.

    cheers

Hi Dave I have read a few of your replies sounds like you know your bikes,  I like a ride into the south west if your ever looking for a run, I think we have similar work done on our bikes. I used to live down that way so know the not so well known good roads pretty well.  If you are ever at a lose end and feel like a run let me know Chris 0407778440
