Hi all, i'm under orders from roadtrain to say 'ello; he's been lurking on our UK based forum - http://www.harley-davidson-hangout.com/forum/ feel free to pop in and say hello yourselves.

My name's Phil, I'm from the south coast of England and I ride with the Sussex Coasters - Region 18 of The Harley-Davidson Riders Club of Great Britain.
I ride a '95 Heritage - some say badly but they don't get to call me mate

I've made 10 visits to Australia over the years and have family and friends scattered about the place between Sydney and Perth.

I'll keep poppin' in from time to time to kep up with what you're getin' up to.

Hi Phil and welcome from Perth...... I get over to the UK couple times a year but most time spent around London, Hampshire and Wales. Tend to try and get to Dockgate 20 HD in Southampton or Warrs in London if I can. I lived and worked in Hampshire for a number of years and like to get back there to catch up with friends. Apparently Frasers here in Perth have recently recruited one of the Southampton mechanics.

Hi Kingchops. Adelaide eh, that's where I had me first Vegimite   I have friends and family (including a few Coppers) in the Adelaide area, I've spent a fair bit of time in Smithfield Plains over the years and more than a bit in the Barossa doing the wineries - I once arrived at Adelaide airport about 9am and by 2 that afternoon was 3 sheets to the wind having done some heavy duty wine tasting   I guess it's my time spent in SA that makes me favour Coopers when I can find it in the shops here; I tend to favour quality over quantity these days. I hope you're gettin' some good riding weather and doin' some miles in up in the hills. My duties as an H-DRCGB Rep, Committee member and Forum moderator keeps me pretty busy but I'll make time to pop in and see how things are going with you all.

    PhillSpace,

Sounds like you know you're way around Adelaide pretty well. You wouldn't believe how many people who move away that I talk to have mentioned how difficult it is to get a good Pale Ale outside of here, you're not alone there. I do a lot of work for the wine industry which keeps me pretty well stocked up with some good local product and the good old Barossa is up there with the best.

Hi KC. Yep I'm quite partial to Adelaide, sort of quietish, which I like. Having spent a bit of time in SA since my first visit to family back in '80 I can mostly find my way around. Haven't ridden in OZ since '84 as I had a big bike crash in '86 and ended up losing me left leg below the knee. As a result I need a special gearchanger (kliktronic) so coming out and hiring a bike is a no no. I've usually hired a cheapie motor from Pathfinder down on Parafield Airport.
Glad to hear you get to spend a bit of time in the Barossa. I'm partial to a drop of shiraz myself and favour a bottle or two from the Willows Winery up in Light Pass. It's not a big place but was recommended by a wine merchant friend of friends. Have been known to down the odd drop of Port as well; especially if it's a freebee up at the Leather shop in Hahndorf

Bugga, writing this has made me thirsty .... now where did I put that corkscrew??
