I was looking in my library of bike mags for an article in HD magazine. Didn't find what I was looking for but in Nov-Dec 1995 issue I found this advert. We had discussed this bike in a thread some time ago. Just thought I would post the advert for interest....tc88b
the top pic is my old bike its got a 90 cube s@s with revtech 4 speed kick start gearbox ,i later added a motec fuel injection system for 7 grand and it put out 190hp at back wheel on dyno
A search for Griffin Manufacturing in Google didn't bring up any relevant hits, unfortunately.
Howdy guys, I am lucky enough to have a 1996, 96ci Legend. Bought it in 98 and still have it today. I ride it like I stole it and fit the bill to keep it running accordingly. I have been riding for over 4 decaids and the I must say that my Legend is out there in a leage of its own. The handeling is very rigard untill you get into race mode where my back is hunched over a bit and the unseen bumps then are painless. I have found all I have do is hang on to the handlebars a bit tighter so I dont fall off the back. The bike holds its line.
Now! From what I have lead to beleave: Griffin engineering moved to Kulua Lumpa after the 2 year warenty sent the company broke in Aussi. Ed had to go into partnership with a local, (chinese/Malay) to do business in Maylasia. I was told, (I dont know if this is gosbil or not), that while Ed was on a busness trip to the US, the slimy slophead sold a heap of bikes and cleared out, hence the end of the Legend.
I have since stumbiled across a bunch of complete Lagends in the back of a custom bike shop in K.L. and I would like to find out who now owns these so I can purchace them and return them to ther homeland Adelaide. My problem is I cant remember where the shop is. I have been back to K.L. a couple of times but rest asured I will find them again. I am told that these bikes (23 of them) can not be put on the road by law after the court case in Malaysia.
They look alot like a Sucker Punch Sallys Swinger
