I've put about 270 Km on one tank on my TC88. That was as close as I wanted to push it, although I was told I could get nearly 300 Km depending on conditions. The light come on at about 200 KM for me.

I can get at least 350 ks on a tank on my 07 Dyna on a country run, drops to around 250,260 around town. The light comes on anywhere from about 140 ks onward though I've never taken any more than 16.5 liters to fill up. I'd like to carry some spare fuel on a ride to find out the useable capacity and work out a safety margin.

I'm getting close to 5ltr per 100ks. When I punch it hard it will go about 6-7 ltr per 100 ks. My bike is a 07 FXST with V&H BSS pipes, PC111 usb, and SE AC. When I put all that stuff on I had the bike dynod for that setup and I'm using premium unleaded 95 octane.

To check it reasonably accurately I fill tank, set trip A to 0 and check at next fill, don't trust tank guage!

I think that the dyno is esential to tune the bike properly and achieve good economy.

The 96 runs a lot cooler as well, also changed to Amsoil 20 50 in engine and SG 75 90 in gear box.

My 07 Street Bob was giving me over 300Km's per tank and around 290-300 if i pushed it with stock pipes etc. Now with all the new kit am getting maybe 220-250 or thereabouts. Will update once I have the dyno done.

Yeah it was stock. I've got a stsge one kit fitted now and I need a decent ride to check it again.

just check my fuel useage after my ride down to Kangaroo valley yesterday and it work out at approx. 5.75lts/100km and that was 2 up in all the wind and there are quite a few hills including barrengarre Mtn so I am stoked with the fuel economy, much better than the old EVO ever got.did 265km and still only had to put in just over 15lts.

looks like i need to do as u guys sugest, im of on a 150 od k run today so ill do it n let yas no , yer i dont trust that fuel gauge, im also no sure if dumping the rear and a 2" tank lift affects the silly gauge

     GEE I MISS RESERVE

Don't know about the tank lift, but my bike is dumped 11/2" in the rear and the guage reads the same as before I did it ie.It takes forever to move and once it gets to halfway it rockets down towards empty.

    Hi Surly,

fill the tank and ride until the fuel light comes on zip into the servo and fill her up again, this way you'll know how much fuel you have left and how much she uses before the lift comes on for a certain distance.

    Robbo,

The light seems to have a mind of its own.

It was 248km and 13.8 litres if that helps you. Filled then refilled.

    cheers

    Surly,

If it's any help, divide the 248km by the fuel fill of 13.8 litres and multiply the answer by 2.8 to get mpg.

On that tank load you got 50.3 miles per gallon.

Some of us old farts still think in gallons!!

Must be something wrong with my 03 WideGlide. I always get over 300km before I switch to reserve and then only 14 litres to refill (so about 62mpg). That leaves me with about 5.5 litres left so I could conceivably get over 400 to the tank if I wanted to use the possibly gunky stuff at the bottom of the tank. Thats all 2-up too. It's a carburetted model.
