    G'day to all,

I've spent a lot of time over the years backpacking around S.E Asia and sometimes renting trail bikes on the side. I would just LOVE to be able to ship my Harley to say Singapore or Bali and then spend 6 to 8 weeks cruising through Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand etc. Maybe even join the annual Phuket Bike Week in April.  What a brilliant trip it would be! Warm weather everywhere and not much rain around June-July. Not to mention the food..... and the cheap beer....and the............I'll shut up now..  :)

Have any of you done this??? Any guesstimates on crating/shipping? How much paperwork is involved?

Thanks for that Alby. Some excellent info there. Looks like pretty much $1500 each way to cart your bike so it's not really worth it unless you take a very long holiday!! It only cost me $1400 to get a car from Japan to Aus so it's puzzling how they can charge so much for a bike!

It's a bit disappointing as I reckon there would be hundreds of keen bike riders who would take their bikes to SE Asia with them if it was only say $500 each way.

Perth is closer to Singapore than Sydney.......but it may as well be another planet!

One of these days, maybe I can get 6 months off!!!
