We have done this dance before.....HD has a few shockers on the ugly list as well, 1971 FX Super Glide, FXDR 114, FXFBS Fat Bob just to mention a few. Would it stop me from buying one....absolutely not. I would go straight to that BMW over many other brands because of its great pedigree not its looks.

Haha damn, shows how different people are, as in my post each person has their own preferences with looks good/bad. Those models you list I really like, especially every model of the Fat Bob, the current one in particular just looks brutal straight off the floor to me, absolutely love it, and riding it is a great experience.

If I was to pick some unappealing HD models to me on looks it would be the V-Rod, and the Deluxe, straight up but I know they have huge appeal and following to others.

As an aside, I like how we can discuss our personal views on things on this forum without someone getting butt hurt and abusing everyone like a 5 year old who lost their dummy like on other forums. I guess it is the low number of people who actively post to a degree. Less dickhead to poster ratio 🤡

    Neither can I Beags.
    How about these ugly fuckers?.
Possible exception is the Zundapp 750. A bike that comes with a machine gun, 2 wheel drive and seating for 3 storm troopers might just be the next big thing in the future of motorcycles.

Been looking for an Adventure bike the last couple of years! Had the pleasure of checking this out a few weeks ago! Pretty impressed, done a fair bit of research on the BMW, but would appear the Pan may answer. Having said that, in typical Harley style, Screamin Eagle pipe is 42% less in weight and the air intake is 9% better to breathe! Add the other fruit ($ tbc) is probably up with the BMW GS at $38k all tricked out! 3 colours to choose from, think I'd do the grey! Matches the Breakout!...lol

Personally i think the Pan is a great looking bike. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beer holder, for me the latest model HD Softail V Star is an ugly bike.

Just watched the video, it's probably a good bike, but could not see myself buying one. I find myself riding with a lot of sheep on GS 1200 BMW's these day's but we are not on roads like this guy is riding on, we ride black top, the GS go ok but don't excite me or impress my old sporty. ( half an old VW beetle? ).

Its a hard decision, the more money the more options. It does look like a nice bike to ride and guess it depends if you have the balls and money to take it off road like that and drop it.

I guess the BMW, Harley, KTM and Ducati all end up about the same amount, high $30k's on the road and insured. I was in that same predicament a few months ago. I was trying to fit three bikes into one, ended up buying a Kwaka Versys 1000, $20k and kept all three.

I couldn't bring myself to buying a bike like that and treating it like I do my DR650.

You know as opposed to my previous post, it's not too bad.
But, I still wouldna purcgase one, if dollars were available for a bush bike, which I cringe at just the thought of scratching let alone dropping the cunt on rocks. With you leachy, stick to my Belgarda.

I own a GS, bought it new to ride off road, that's all I do with it.
From the beginning I decided that I wouldn't be precious with avoiding scratches & dings. It's protected by the crash bars mostly anyway - a few 'badges of honour' marks here & there just add to the character.
Just one look at it and you know it is being used for what it was designed for - fit for purpose.
Seeing an immaculate 5 year old GS sitting outside a cafe is nice but also speaks volumes about the owner.

I traded my DR 650 in March and bought a poor mans adventure bike Royal Enfield Himalayan, 2500 change over, ease the pain doing bush riding if to do some damage. Nice ride, Apples and Pears compared to a Pan-Am. Still does the job off road.
