The game between Collingwood and the West Coast Eagles last night was another cracking game.
The common tater who said the other day that, "Collingwood is just making up the numbers in the final 8", must be eating lashings of humble pie right now.
Lets face it, only Collingwood supporters like that team. Every one else seems to hate them. But you do have to give them credit for winning at Perth last night.
I can see them sending out the "Choking Cats" in straight sets from the finals next week if they play like that again.

Being a Collingwood supporter from birth, I can categorically agree that we are indeed a despised group, bothers me not at all, I love game, enjoy watching any game where the teams have a go, the game has changed a lot from when I played, the current crop would run rings around anyone back then, rules have changed to stop the big hits and make the game flow and while I lament the demise of the biff at times I must admit the game is so much quicker now, fuckers have eyes in the back of their heads, glad I can love two codes, I pity those that can't.

Its funny how the TV is such a big influance never heard of the rugby code until much later in life.

Only had ABC back, I knew about soccer, didn't play it but on rainy days in front of the telly I would be yelling out Liverpool haha

I went to the Liverpool game in Adelaide Oval Took my Port Adelaide scarf and wore my Port jursey
Stood in the packed out crowd and sung "never walk alone " one of the best nights
Love the footy regardless of the code

Yeah, it is usually a move to another state that plays a different code that gets you interested in it.

I went to Darwin years ago and they had the radio on 100 volume playing Rugby it was so annoying did not understand anything. I told my misses when I returned home when I play the radio with the footy on I will keep it at a low level from now on.

Interesting discussions around whether or not the pre-finals bye will continue. First time ever (or in a long time) that the winners of the top 4 qualifying finals (port and Brisbane) both lost in the preliminary finals. Both had two weeks off in recent times which isn’t good for keeping peak performance. Ie final season game, bye, qualifying final, week off, prelim final. The effects may be heightened when they’re living in their Covid bubbles too
