I took our little jump pack to Adelaide last week, Wendys new Trike had been in the transport company's hands for 10 days, the depo guy suggested that a lot of Harleys need to jump start, must be the alarm, turned the key, dash lights flashy and faint, found a good size cable under the right cover and the bike started with no effort

Powerall XL3 is the one we have, got it from repco, $295, has a couple different connect methods and has usb ports also, comes in a case, the unit is a little bigger than I was expecting, I was thinking mobile phone or portable hard drive size, its about the size of the IBM harddrive
I recharge  (top up) 3 monthly with all my batterys (chainsaw, drills, ect)

Good Info, need bit over 11 volts just to power the ECU . If I was out on a run & had to use a jump start, I would connect a multi meter up get rev up around 2k 3k check regulator putting power back into battery, if not get new battery there & then. & new regulator.

Is that a New HD trike? As friend of mine just got a 114" HD trike for him & wife. his electric reverse been sticking on, said feels like has a brake on when go to ride off, so will take back to dealer, but they like the Trike.

    2019 Ultra, 2279 Km
    no issuses
Wendy said the reverse is smoother and quieter than the one we looked at the dealer
    no brake drag feel either

Thank's, I'll tell my friend ( probably need's adjustment ) my friends looks the same but not two tone, it's same blue colour all over, same wheels, no chrome rack on top box. 114 cubic inch m8. got it for his partner as she did not feel right on two wheels, but loves the trike.
when he road it from dealer he thought was a bit slack, but now it's got some k's on it they love how it goes.

Must get one of them jump starter packs, be handy for work or rides away, wonder how much juice it would need to start the 5 cyl diesel in the Ranger?

Anyway ended up with another SSB, also got a new charger as my old one ays cat and mouse with the settings button, think I got it in 2005 so I guess it's had a good innings, so new battery as of 30-1-21....now I'll be able to look it up haha.
    Pics of what I got......

Went looking for this post to see how long had passed, 18-09-23, touch wood, still going 👍

Have you got the jump starter pack yet ?
I got one of these for the bike

Was handy to carry around while I was troubleshooting a problem that turned out to be a crook stator. They are the duck's guts.
Or you can upgrade to a GB70 or 75 and it will do the Ranger. It could live in the Missus' car and make sure she never gets stuck.

I've got one in the ute, need a more compact one for the bike, no saddle bags, would get a little tiresome hanging off the shoulder I reckon.

    Harley have this to say.....

Typically battery life is approximately three years, but can be much better or much worse depending on usage of the motorcycle. Battery tenders are always recommended to keep batteries at their optimum charge level when not riding.

    Not much insight in that!
Since I ride often I'm thinking the life of my batteries is shorter overall time wise but they probably get the same amount of starts others get over 10 years, just a theory, I don't really know.

I'm just gunna get another HVT-1, can get it for $135, this one did 2 years 10 months roughly, still cheaper than any other option given how long they last for me.

Depending on the day lately it's charging 14.2 to 14.4, I have it as a gauge option on this Speedo.
