This might be a bit like a "what oil should I use" post but am looking at getting rid of the hideous OEM shocks on 2018 SGS.  Sick of being bounced off the seat, and no amount of adjustment seems to fix the problem.  Im only 185cms and 86 KGs on a good day and ride one up most of the time.  Having said that the Princess does jump on the back sometimes.
Have googled the hell out of reviews and cant really make up my mind.  Leaders at the moment are JRI and Progressive.  Im not interested in lowering the bike at all, happy to keep it stock height.
looking for reviews/opinions  from forum members.
    Thanks

Hi Binnsy, I am  a tad surprised you are only 85cms tall and can even ride a Street Glide!
I have been very happy with the heavy duty Progressive shocks I have put on my 2008 FXST rear and gas cartridges up front and on my old Shovel wideglide 412 series shocks at rear and the springs up front.

Ha ha, whoops, typo fixed.  A Street Glide riding Pygmy !!!
Thanks mate the progressive do sound pretty good, not sure I will need heavy duty though.  At this stage not too worried about the front, having said that, if I improve the rear I suppose the front will be next......
I had 412 front and rear on my fatboy and was pretty impressed

Mate, I ummed and ah'd about whether to get the heavy duty ones or not as from memory they recommended heavy duty if you weighed more than 90 kilos and at the time I was close to that. Read all sorts of negative reports on the internet about how hard the heavy duty ones were but the bloke at rollies speed shop reckoned the heavy duty ones were the go and so did the independent big twin shop in town as there was no Harley dealer in Hobart. I am really glad I went for the heavy duty ones as the 6 ks from the highway to my place is sealed but was like a motorcross track. They were installed just past the lowest setting and that is still fine riding solo even with luggage. I did have the missus on the back once and could feel the shocks needed to be adjusted up but it was only on a brief ride and I did not have the tool to adjust them. Missus usually has her own bike. If you cart your missus around I'd be going for the heavy duty ones.
Only decided to get the gas cartridges in the front after putting the new shocks on the back. They have improved the handling by a cuntry mile.
Only changed my Shovel shocks last week. Interestingly they had no standard or heavy duty version. I bought front and rears at the same time and am glad to have done it. Cheers

    Dunno if this helps you.
I had my original rear shocks rebuilt by S.O.S suspension at Penrith nsw.
    New oil, re-valved , $250.
All he was concerned about was that the staunchions were unmarked, ie no scratches or pitting.
    Worked well for me.

Thanks. I didn't know that could be done. Certainly a much cheaper option. The rebound is the issue with the OEM ones. Nearly throws my short arse over the bars.

Thanks mate. Yes I do like the sound of them. Might be the way I'll go. They engineered a rear set specifically for tourers.

Legends are definitely the way to go price wise as well as performance wise .. one thing though is you should Absolutely do the fronts as well .

If you ask suspension specialist they will all tell you that the rears are for comfort first then handling where as the front is the opposite .. fronts are all about handling first then comfort .

When you only do the rears the fronts short givings will be more noticeable .. real interested to hear how you think the rears make a difference .

    Good Luck .

Ill be interested to see how you find them. I have Legend cartridge inserts for my Dyna and find them a bit too stiff but way better than the original HD dinosaur forks. I am wondering if the shocks are the same, they look nice. I ended up with progressive shocks.

Hi all thanks for the interest.
Just waiting on some washers to be able to mount them and I'll give a report. There was an issue with a shortage of washers supplied with the shocks. A bit annoying. I have heard the same re the fronts. Once the rear is done the front needs it as well. Will see how we go.

Washers finally arrived from the U.S.
Fitted the shocks today, about a 20 minute job, very easy.  Will be out for a test ride soon, hopefully these Revo As are as good as all the hype.  Front will be done next.  Just not sure what to put in there though.
