It started out good, but per usual he fucked his tyres.

Jack rode well in the sprint race finishing in 6th. The interesting thing is that Ducati have given Alvaro Bautista , their multi championship winning Ducati  World Superbike champ, a full factory GP23 as a thank you to race this weekend. In superbikes he is dominant and a fabulous rider but qualified near the back and finished the sprint race second last, just shows how much the rider and bike performance step is between the two classes.

Alvaro would have been last in the main race as well but for Nakagami crashing and rejoining the race.

Well that was a fucking good race to end the season.  edge of the seat stuff....  (I'm officially renaming miller from 'thriller' to 'choke' - he needs to move on and let some of the young guns through)

The factory wants results and similar to the Ducati days he just seems to not get the Sunday success. He seems to be able to get the qualifying single lap flyer sorted but just not the long race results. I think if he doesn't get the results next season he's going to get moved on. So many fast upcoming riders as well as the Hondas being the last choice in bike their riders looking for a competitive seat.
His talent is not in question its his lack of results that will be his undoing.

Sad news overnight.....the "Go Show" Anthony Gobert is in palliative care in the last days of his life. A unbelievable rider in both superbikes and Moto Gp. Drug use has plagued him all his life.

That is sad news. He is/was exceptional to watch.
If it wasn’t his love of smoking the bud, he could have gone a long way. A definite world title contender in his day.

He was potentially a world champ contender if he could have stayed clean, drugs got him and it really hit rock bottom when he ripped of the wrong crew who beat him that badly with bats he required a hip replacement. Very sad that someone who was so successful in superbikes/mx/ama/ gp bikes and would have earned millions is destitute.

Well this season is make or break for Jack with KTM. He has to be more consistent than last year as KTM have a very fast replacement itching to get on his bike. Jack looks super fit but hasn't set the pre season testing on fire, lets hope he can get the results this season.

I'm over his antics, he can fuck off....  I want to barrack for a rider that goes forward in the pack more often than he goes backward.  He is keeping a seat from some very good young gun Kiwi riders.

NFI, I had presumed there would be at least one or two.  We could always go for an up and coming Aussy, but thats always going to be a poor second to a Kiwi.

Ha Ha very true, i have been beaten by many a flying Kiwi ontrack....Kiwis have a great pedigree in bike racing in both production, Superbike, Isle of Mann and 500cc racing locally and internationally  Sadly the short list for Moto Gp rides don't have anyone from either NZ or Oz inline for the main game if Jack gets the hook.

New Zealand punch above their weight in some sports. Certainly rugby, union and and maybe league. They do ok in sailing and horse racing.
Certainly well behind the Aussies in MotoGP.

They do well in the informal sport of bar brawling too. When much younger I made the unwise decision of taking on 3 Maori....

That would be truly unwise....I once walked into a bar in Taupo and i was the only white bloke in there.  Little did  know it was the local patched pub!  Bloody nice folks in the end though...

These blokes were OK in the end too, they revived me by pouring half a jug of beer on my head rather than sinking the boots into my ribs, shouted me a beer afterwards too.

Jack not going so well, crashed trying to get a decent flying lap. Not going to be a good grid position for the race
